Speaking on the occasion, Muralinath Reddy said that the conducting sports meet will help strengthen the bondage among the students and also kindle sportive and fighting spirit among them.

Tirupati: The four-day state-level sports and games meet of the students of Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) and affiliated agriculture colleges began on a colorful note in SV Agricultural College grounds here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Muralinath Reddy said that the conducting sports meet will help strengthen the bondage among the students and also kindle sportive and fighting spirit among them.

Winning is the not important but participation in the event, he said and told the students that not to be dispirited with any defeat as it was the first step for their win.

Rajeswari said a total of 400 students from 10 colleges including 5 agriculture, 2 agriculture engineering , 2 food technology and one home science were participating in the four-day sports and game meet which will end on December 20.

She said cultural events for students would also be conducted every day in the evening. The events being held include table tennis, badminton, volleyball and also indoor games like caroms and chess.

ANGRAU Dean of students affairs R V Sambasivarao, students affairs in-charge B Chandrakala, Regional Agricultural research Station (RARS) Associate Director Dr T C M Naidu and others were present.
