Amaravati: TDP will conduct one-day workshop for its party MLAs, MPs and constituency in-charges at a private function hall in Vijayawada city on Tuesday.
Chief Minister and party national president N Chandrababu Naidu will address the meeting on strengthening of the party and finalise plans for better coordination between the party and the government.
The meeting will discuss performance of legislators and party constituency in-charges in addition to recently-concluded Jana Chaitanya Yatras, membership drive and implementation of welfare schemes. This meeting is taking place ahead of two-day collectors’ conference fromDecember 21.
Before the collectors’ meeting, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and party leadership want to discuss the various issues related to MLAs and development of their constituencies, and coordination with administrations.
The top brass has plans to collect feedback from legislators and discuss the same in the collectors’ conference.
Several legislators and Ministers have been complaining to the Chief Minister about the “non-cooperation” of district officials.
A senior Minister expressed his dissatisfaction on attitude of Chittoor district Collector. Similarly, a woman Minister feels being neglected on issues related to her portfolio and non-cooperation from Commissioner.
At the same time, some Ministers and MLAs are facing allegations from people and officials. Recently, a Minister’s name cropped up in a land controversy.
Some other similar issues are also likely to be discussed in the meeting, according to a TDP senior leader. He said the meeting mainly focuses on ways to strengthening the party.
The party has achieved 62 lakh membership in its ongoing membership drive but it is learnt that party supremo is not satisfied with the performance of some MLAs and Ministers.
According to sources, nearly five lakh party members did not renew their membership during the present drive, which is being taken seriously by the party leadership.
The attitude of MLAs and Ministers is being blamed for the reluctance of activists to renew their membership.
In this backdrop, the Chief Minister is expected to discuss all the issues and strategies to set right the party working style at grass root level.
The TDP leadership also wants to continue the tradition of conducting a meeting with legislators a day before every collectors’ meeting.
