Rajamahendravaram: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister N Chinarajappa said the State government was taking steps to increase employment opportunities in the State by setting up industries.

Chinarajappa along with Rajamahendravaram rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary took part in several developmental programmes in rural manadal on Monday.

He laid foundation stones for a power sub-station to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore in Bommuru and three cement roads to be laid at a cost of Rs 1.40 crore in Katheru village. He also set the stone for another sub-station to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore at Thorredu village.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinarajappa said that the government was taking steps to supply 24-hour power for domestic purpose and seven-hour power to farmers in the State.

He said the government was preparing an action plan to supply power up to nine hours to agriculture if necessary. Reminding that that the State tops in the country in saving and supply of power, he said the government was committed to provide quality power.

Rajamahendravaram MP M Murali Mohan said the State government was committed to supply uninterrupted and quality power.

Rajamahendravaram rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary said that five sub-stations had been constructed in Rajamahendravaram rural constituency and initiative had been taken up to set up another five sub-stations.

He said a comprehensive action plan had been chalked out to supply drinking water to villages adjacent to Godavari bund with Nabard funds.

The State government was releasing required funds to construct roads and drains in rural constituency, he added.

Stating that steps were taken to prevent government lands from being encroached upon, Butchaiah Chowdary said that the officials had been directed to remove encroachments.
