- Bhuma Nagi Reddy was unable to get funds for development for Nandyal constituency, similar is the case of Allagadda

Kurnool: The Kurnool TDP unit has found itself in a peculiar situation with loyalists on one side and defectors from YSRCP on the other pulling their strings to prove their one-upmanship.

Nandyal Assembly constituency which is being represented by Bhuma Nagi Reddy is one such example. While Nagi Reddy got elected on YSRCP ticket, later he switched to TDP on the plank of bringing more developmental funds to the constituency.

Even after two-and-a-half-years of TDP rule in the State, funds were not sanctioned for the development of Nandyal segment.

The infighting between TDP loyalist Silpa Mohan Reddy and Nagi Reddy seems to be coming the way of grounding developmental works in the constituency. The difference between the two leaders came to fore during Jana Chaitanya Yatralu held in November. It was only at the intervention of the K Atcham Naidu, the in-charge Minister for the district, a solution was found.

Similarly, Allagadda constituency which is being represented by Bhuma Akhila Priya, the daughter of Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy is also yet another example where the development of constituency has suffered. Recently, Bhuma Nagi Reddy met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Amaravati and presented him a representation listing out the developmental activities to be taken up at Nandyal and Allagadda. The Chief Minister has assured him that a task force would be set up comprising of Revenue Divisional Officer and Tahsildar to chalk out a programme and implement it on priority basis.

This was also confirmed by the District Collector, who said in a recent review meeting that top priority should be accorded to developmental activities at Nandyal and Allagadda. The situation in other constituencies where the YSRCP MLAs shifted loyalties to TDP from segments like Srisailam and Kodumur is also same. Budda Rajasekhar Reddy who represents Srisailam constituency is also finding it very tough.

The TDP district president Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, who is also the party in-charge of Srisailam said that he is doing best to get along with Budda Rajasekhar Reddy by keeping differences aside. However, the situation is slightly different in Kodumur.

Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, who is the TDP in-charge of Kodumur is found to be dominating. MLA Mani Gandhi being a Dalit found it very difficult to carry on the developmental activities here.
