TTD Chairman, JEO console injured mahout at SVIMS

Tirupati: TTD (Tirumala) JEO KS Srinivasa Raju on Monday visited SVIMS Hospital here to console, Gangaiah, the mahout, who was injured in
the elephant attack on Sunday and is undergoing treatment in the super specialty hospital here.

The incident took place when the temple elephant Avanija frightened and became uncontrollable on seeing the mob of pilgrims, who converged
after Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Sunday evening resulting in the attack.

She threw the elephant care taker Gangaiah, when he tried to control, injuring him. However, the other mahouts immediately brought the
pachyderm to normalcy and the TTD staff rushed him first to TTD Asvini Hospital on the hills. Later, he was shifted to BIRRD Hospital as he
sustained fracture in the attack and now in SVIMS.

TTD Chairman Ch Krishnamurthy also visited Gangaiah in the hospital on Sunday evening and wished him speedy recovery. Meanwhile, SVIMS
director-cum-Vice-Chancellor TS Ravikumar explained Srinivasa Raju about the treatment being provided to the mahout and also his health
condition.
