According to Guntur urban SP Sarva Sresta Tripathi, the accused SK Chishti Basha and SK Monis had committed offences by breaking into houses at night when the inmates were away.
The police led by CCS DSP P Mallikarjuna Rao arrested them on Monday when the duo was loitering around suspiciously at the ‘Flower Market’ in the city and recovered gold and silver articles worth Rs 4.2 lakh from them.
The accused had committed four offences in Lalapet Police Station and three offences in Old Guntur Police Station limits.
