Kakinada: Former MLC and YSRC leader Kandula Lakshmi Durgesh Prasad said that the party will intensify its political battle against the TDP
on its unfulfilled promises and negligence in the implementation of various welfare schemes for poor. He also exuded confidence that the party
will wrest power in 2019 polls as the people of the State have been vexed with the TDP rule on various aspects.
Durgesh who served as one term MLC when late YSR was Chief Minister, spoke to this correspondent on various issues on Monday.
He claimed to joined YSRC as it is the principal Opposition party in the State through which the problems of cross section of people can be
highlighted.
He said that the TDP government till day failed to disburse the old age, widow and pensions payable to differently-abled till date. It is total
failure of TD administration in catering to the needs of these sections, he said Durgesh observed that the YSRC has expanded developed its
base in costal AP, particularly in both Godavari districts and in Krishna and among SC, BC social sections besides Kapus.
Commenting on his political status in YSRC he said that at present he holds no post expect as ex-MLC.
On the issue of his chances as district unit chief YSRC in view of his experience in similar capacity in Congress, Durgesh opined that the
present incumbent K. Kannababu is catering to the needs of the party very well and rules out taking charge.
Commenting on YSRC as party dominated by powerful Reddy community he said that it is incorrect to consider the party in that way, as there
are good number of leaders from Kapu and other social sections.
He hoped that their elder Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will get clean chit from the charges he has been facing in courts.
