11 hatcheries inspected in Konaseema

Amalapuram: A team led by district joint collector-2 Radhakrishna Murthy inspected 11 hatcheries of Konaseema on Monday. The team checked whether the hatcheries were constructed as per the guidelines of the Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) and required standards.

They inspected five hatcheries at Allavaram, three at Mamidivaram, one at Ainavalli, two in Amalapuram.

There are a total of 78 hatcheris permitted by CAA. The Central government gives approval to hatcheries built beyond 2km from the sea coast.

The inspecting team included fisheries deputy director Dr S Anjali, Dr P Rammohan Rao of SIFT, SV University professor, CIFE and Nascal members.
