Students boycott schools in wake of NRI girl suicide

Eluru: All schools remained closed as students of various Colleges boycotted classes on Tuesday, demanding immediate inquiry into the suicide incident of NRI Junior College student Jyothika.

The students led by SFI and PDSU reached various colleges and asked the students to boycott classes.

On their call, students of CR Reddy, ST Theresa, SPDBT, Government Junior Colleges and private institutions left the schools.

Later the students staged Dharna in front of Fire Station centre. PDSU leader B Vinod, P Chandu, SFI leaders Karumanchi Kranthi Babu, P Sva, leaders D Satish P Koushik, and others led the agitation.

The students demanded immediate action against the lecturers and management of NRI College for which action lead to the suicide of M Jyothika recently at Tangellamudi.
