Nellore: In-charge Collector A Md Imtiyaz Ahmed visited Narayana Reddy Pet village in Nellore rural mandal on Wednesday and directed the officials to implement cashless transactions effectively.

He visited the village and appreciated the villagers for taking up cashless transactions.

Imtiyaz said that villagers were using their ATM and RuPay cards to purchase commodities, fertilisers and others.

He asked people in rural areas to follow Narayana Reddy Pet as a model and follow the cashless transactions.

He said officials have provided RuPay cards to 1,875 families in the village.

He made an appeal to the jobless youth to educate villagers about cashless transactions.

He asked officials of Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank and Corporation Bank to focus on digital transactions.

Further, he directed the fair price shop dealers in the district to issue Christmas-Sankranthi Kanuka at free of cost to the cardholders.

Imtiyaz said that the stocks have already been transported to all mandals for distributing the same to 46,000 Christians, who are holding ration cards in the district.
