Vijayawada: Vangaveeti Radha, former MLA and son of slain MLA Vangaveeti Ranga has complained to DGP N Sambasiva Rao against Ram Gopal Varma directed ‘Vangaveeti’ Telulgu film which was released on Friday.

He complained that the film was far from facts and ideals for which his father had worked till his last breath.

He urged him to stop screening of the film, according to sources. Before making the movie, Varma met Ranga’s arch-rival and TDP leader Devineni Rajasekhar (Nehru).

While the movie was being made, Ranga’s supporters under the banner of Vangaveeti Radha Mitra Mandali approached court against the movie.

After this, Varma personally met Radha and his mother Ratnakumari, former MLA. After Friday’s morning show, Ranga’s supporters who were hurt shared their ire with the electronic media that Ranga was portrayed as a rowdy in the film and not a single good deed of the Kapu leader was shown.

They alleged that the movie was full of violence and Vangaveeti title was used to make money. It may be mentioned here that Ranga was an MLA when he was brutally murdered by his rivals while fasting for few days when NT Rama Rao was chief minister.

His murder created a sensation and led to Kapu unity in entire coastal area. In the subsequent elections, TDP had lost power to Congress, obviously owing to wave of sympathy for Vangaveeti.
