Srikakulam: Doctors should serve the patients with dedication as it’s noble profession, said Srikakulam MP K Rammohan Naidu.

He delivered a keynote address on the occasion of inauguration of Swastha Vidyavahini programme at RIMS Medical College and Hospital here on Saturday.

With an aim to achieve Aarogyandhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu introduced this novel health programme in the State, he elaborated.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ch Dhanalakshmi appealed to doctors to provide dedicated services to children, elderly persons and the poor.

Healthy society and wealthy State is only possible with healthy people, which is possible only with doctors who honest service is a must for a health society, said Srikakulam MLA G Laxmidevi.

All the existing health schemes like NTR baby kit, NTR Vaidya Seva, Chandranna Sanchara Chikitsa, Thalli Bidda Express will be included in the present Swastha Vidyavahini to create awareness among people on health, explained district medical and health officer Dr Sanapana Tirupathi Rao.

District Immunisation Officer Dr Bagadi Jagannadham said that 223 vehicles and 446 teams have been appointed so far in the district under the
Swastha Vidyavahini.

In all, 23,000 medical students are being involved in the programme across the State with different assignments, explained Deputy DM&HO Dr Menda Praveen.
