Elections to the district committee of Kurni (weaver) Welfare Society were held on Sunday at Sri Aditya Vidya Nilayam.
Kurnool: Elections to the district committee of Kurni (weaver) Welfare Society were held on Sunday at Sri Aditya Vidya Nilayam.
A large number of people from the community participated in the voting. Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the Society said that the body was formed 16 years ago with the objective of providing political representation to their community.
Butta Rangaiah and B Vasudevaiah were elected President and executive of the committee. Speaking on the occasion, they promised to strive for the welfare of their community and organise various programmes in future towards empowering their community politically
