Women robbed of cash, gold

Nellore: Three women were injured when they were attacked by robbers on Saturday night. According to the police, Eswaramma (50) was residing at Sai Nagar area along with her daughter Kavitha (20) and daughter-in-law Chandrakala (25).

Late on Saturday night, three robbers entered her house, assaulted them with iron rods and robbed the women of Rs 15,000 in cash and 120 gm gold jewelry. Hearing their screams, neighbours rushed to the house but the miscreants managed to get away.

Sullurpet police shifted the women to a private hospital where their condition is stated to be safe. A case has been registered.
