16 scouts and guides to attend ‘National Jamboree’ in Mysore

Visakhapatnam: Eight scouts and same number of guides selected from Sarada Vidya Niketan, Port High School, Vignan High School, ZP High School - Aganampudi and ZP High School - Munagapaka in the district will be attending the 17th National Jamboree to be held in Mysore from December 29 for seven days.

Inaugurating the one-day training program for the participants held at the Sri Sarada Vidya Niketan here on Monday, vice president of AP State Bharat Scouts and Guides Narava Prakasa Rao informed that nearly 2,500 scouts and guides would be attending the program He informed that the National Jamboree would be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Congratulating the selected candidates, Prakasa Rao advised them to participate in all competitions to be held on the occasion such as first-aid, trekking, tent pitching and cultural activities and bring laurels to the district. “Participation in the Jamboree is a good opportunity to interact with the scouts and guides from other States. The participants are being escorted by two scout masters and two guides captains from the district,” he informed.

District Association joint secretary R Madhusudana Rao and members Dasari Venugopal, R Trinadha Rao, Suseela and Dhanalakshmi were also present.
