Vijayawada: There appears no let-up in fireworks against the maverick film director, Ram Gopal Varma (RGV), for his controversial film ‘Vangaveeti’, even after hitting the silver screen two days ago. Vangageeti Radhakrishna, YSRCP leader, former MLA and son of late Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga, made use of his father’s death anniversary on Monday to continue his attack on RGV with a renewed vigour for `negative’ portrayal of his father in the movie.

The observance of the anniversary was marked by vitriol and blistering attack by Ranga fans, targeting the film director. Paying tributes to his father, Radha warned that RGV would have to pay a heavy price for depicting the patriarchs of Vangaveeti family as villains and goons. “He directed the film just for money by tarnishing the image of the leaders who became dear and near to the poor in the city.

If he really wanted money, the Ranga followers would have raised contributions and satiated his hunger for money,” Radha fumed. While some people utilised Ranga’s image for political purposes, Varma is now using the same for making money”, he charged. Radhakrishna accused Varma of being privy to the killers of his father who still manage to go scot-free. He also said his father’s marriage with Ratnakumari was also distorted in the movie.
