Vijayawada: Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) paid rich tributes to former President Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma at Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Monday, on the occasion of his 17th death anniversary.
PCC general secretaries N Narasimha Rao, A Srinivas Kumar and others paid tributes to Shankar Dayal Sharma by garlanding his portrait. On this occasion Narasimha Rao praised the services of Sharma to the nation and Indian National Congress.
He recalled Shankar Dayal Sharma’s services as President, vice president, Union Minister, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and president of India National Congress. Akula Srinivas Kumar said that Shankar Dayal Sharma was a strong leader to the Congress party and called upon the leaders and cadre to remember his services to the party and the country.
APCC official spokesperson N Jyothika, State secretary Anwar Hussain and other congress leaders were present.
