Eluru: All necessary arrangements were made for the inauguration of concrete works of Polavaram Project spillway works, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on December 30.

Collector K Bhaskar on Tuesday held a review meeting on the Polavaram project works and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to the district.

During the meet, he said that the concrete works of Polavaram project will conducted with modernized machines which will speed up the work by 1,200 cubic meter per hour.

The Collector also said that the Chief Minister along with Union ministers will inaugurate the 1,200 cubic meter pouring work to the spillway on December 30.

The Collector stated that about one lakh people are likely to attend the public meeting held at the project site on December 30.

He also added that out of one lakh people, 20,000 to 30,000 people are from East Godavari and remaining from West Godavari who will reach the Polavaram.

K Bhaskar directed the officials to take up all necessary arrangements for the big day. Food arrangements were also taken up under the supervision of three senior officials headed by joint Collector.

He directed officials to open 70 stalls to supply the food to the people at every counter by drafting additional staff.

He also directed to supply 4 lakh water packets at the public meeting area. He directed information Engineer to take up
steps to erect the eight LED
big TV Screens at the public meeting venue.

Joint Collectors P Koteswara Rao, MH Sheriff, ITDA PO Shan Mohan and others participated in the review meeting.
