Rajamahendravaram: The city municipal commissioner V Vijayarama Raju on Wednesday said that a floating stage is going to be set in the river Godavari for the cultural programmes.

He added that the floating deck will be set up at Chintalamma ghat near Kotilingala ghat in the river and the citizens can witness programme by sitting near the ghats.

He also said that the people as well as various organisations could make use of this facility.

Mr Viajayarama Raju informed that Swachch Sarvekshna on the implementation of Swachch Bharat is going on in 500 cities all over the country and Rajamahendravaram is also part of this programme in which representatives of Swatch Bharat will conduct survey on the implementation.

The commissioner said that the cities and towns which will obtain best ranks will get funds and added that the efforts are going on achieve best ranking at the national level. He also added that the people will be made partners in this mission and steps are being taken to motivate the people.

He also informed that he had directed the staff to take sanitation works on all the major roads twice a day and added that a digital device called, ‘Laser Logics’ has been brought to take up revision of taxes and other measurements through which one persons could measure any amount of area and record the reading. He claimed that he had made efforts to bring additional income to the tune of Rs nine crore to enhance the educational standards in municipal schools and increase pass percentage by three percent in class 10 examinations.
