Visakhapatnam: The three day Visakha Utsav will be held on January 28, 29 and 30, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who along with Collector Praveen Kumar, Commissioner of Police T Yoganand and GVMC Commissioner M Harinarayanan, held a review meeting with the officials on the arrangements to be made for the success of the festival, here on Wednesday.

The two-day Partnership Summit will begin on January 27 and conclude on 28. The Minister said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Ministers will take part in the Partnership Summit and around 1,500 delegates from 28 countries are expected to participate. The Visakha Utsav was slated for January 28 so that the partnership delegates will get a chance to participate in the event.

The Utsav will reflect the traditions and rich cultural heritage of north coastal Andhra, particularly Visakhapatnam and the city will get international recognition as a tourist destination due to the presence of foreign delegates.

Unlike previous years, this year all the events will be organised on the Beach Road from the RK Beach to VUDA Park. Major events will be organised on all three days and this year more programmes are being added.

On the inaugural day, a grand carnvial will be held and well- known singer and actor Baba Sehgal will enthrall the people. Tanusri Shankar will perform fusion dance on second day and on the final day film music composer Devi Prasad will organise a concert.

Utsav secretariat will be opened at VUDA administrative building and logo, posters and website would be launched soon.

He in order to maintain transparency, all the expenses will be uploaded in the website. The Minister said all the hotels and restaurants will be asked to provide discounts to the visitors during the three day festival. Local artistes of repute will be presented with awards, the Minister added.
