Vijayawada: Congress party demanded a white paper from the Central government on demonetisation move, said Karnataka Congress Rajya Saba MP K C Ramamurthy.

Addressing a press conference at Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Friday, he said that the APCC leaders will stage protests
at the Collectorates across the State on January 6 and 7 to highlight the problems being faced by the people due to demonetisation.

He stated that the women Congress leaders also participate in protests with empty plates expressing people’s displeasure over demonetisation on January 9.

He asked how much black money has been unearthed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 8 November. He demanded that the Union government pay compensation to the victims’ families who had lost their family members in the queue lines at banks and ATMs.

The Union government should abolish all
charges on digital transactions immediately, he demanded.

APCC President N Raghuveera Reddy, APCC vice presidents M J Ratna Kumar, APCC general secretaries Lingamsetty Eswar Rao,
Congress women’s wing president Sunkara Padmasree and others were present.
