Somireddy files complaint with DGP against YSRCP MLA

Vijayawada: TDP MLC and former Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy complained to DGP N Sambasiva Rao against Nellore YSRCP president and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy for making false allegations against him.

He demanded that the police should take severe action against the MLA for making false charges against him and his family members.

Somireddy along with Vijayawada MLC Buddha Venkanna and Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad met the DGP Sambasiva Rao at his camp office here on Friday.

They submitted a written complaint against Govardhan Reddy. In the complaint, Somireddy said, “Kakani Govardhan Reddy made repeated allegations against me that I possessed assets worth Rs 1,000 crore in four countries and he also created forged and fabricated documents of visa, passports and other documents.”

Later, speaking to mediapersons, Somireddy said that Govardhan Reddy made false allegations against him by producing 30 forged and fabricated documents of Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries.

He said the MLA made an attempt to spoil his image and that of his family members by making the false charges.

The allegations were baseless and were created only to secure undue advantage, he added.

The former Minister said he had challenged Govardhan Reddy to prove the allegations against him. As, he could not produce any proof for the allegations, he had lodged a complaint with the police, Somireddy said.

Somireddy said he had never been to Malaysia after 1998. He went to Malaysia in 1998 for the Asian Games.

Somireddy pointed out that he also lodged a complaint with Nellore rural police against Govardhan Reddy.

He alleged that YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was encouraging Govardhan Reddy to produce false and fabricated documents.

Somireddy said six cases were earlier filed against Govardhan Reddy, He alleged that Govardhan Reddy had connections with mafia gangs in Goa, Puducherry, Karnataka, Tamila Nadu and other States.

He was the main accused in a spurious liquor case. The liquor was imported from Goa and its consumption resulted in deaths of innocent persons, the TDP politburo member said.

Somireddy said the YSRCP was attempting to gain political mileage by making false allegations against the ruling party members.

Vijayawada MLC Buddha Venkanna pointed out that Somireddy’s family had good reputation in Nellore.

TDP State secretary Gottipati Rama Krishna Prasad and party leaders from Nellore district were present.
