Vijayawada: Vijayawada Traffic DCP Kranthi Rana Tata said that Vijayawada city traffic police prohibited the vehicles movement on Flyover Bridge at Police Control Room here on Saturday.

In a press release here on Friday, he said that traffic police officials arranged checking points at every 250 metres on BRTS road, MG road, Ellur road, Police Control Room, Prakasam Barrage Inner Ring road and Prakasam road to prevent any untoward incident on the eve of New Year celebrations in the city.
He said that traffic police will divert the traffic on Bandar road from 6 pm to 2 am on December 31.
He said that people, who are participating in the New Year celebrations in the Indira Gandhi Municipal on December 31, should park their vehicles at PWD ground, Azariah High School ground or Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium football ground.
He cautioned the youngsters not to prohibiting speed driving, motorbikes races and triple riding on 31 December night and Vijayawada traffic police will conduct checking for drunken driving with breath analysers at major centres for avoiding the accidents on the eve of New Year.
