12 MORE HEALTH SERVICES TO BE LAUNCHED AT VIMS

Visakhapatnam: In addition to the health services incorporated in the NTR Health Card, 12 more services will be available at the Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) from New Year on Sunday, according to Director Dr C V Rao.

He told reporters here on Saturday that arrangements have been made to provide additional services in general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, neurology, nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology , neuro surgery, urology and plastic surgery.

He informed under the NTR Health Services, genetic-urinary surgeries and critical care will also be available.

“Efforts are on to provide maternity health care, including deliveries soon.

Necessary testing laboratory and radiology facility was already in the hospital and facilities like C T Scan, blood storage and dialysis will also be set up soon.

There are doctors and staff for all super specialty medical services and more personnel will be deployed in future,” the Director explained.

Dr Rao said though the VIMS has the capacity of 500 beds, 100 beds were only available now and as it has a special governing body, the hospital has attained autonomous status already.

The VIMs would be developed on the lines of NIMS and 24X7 Emergency and Trauma Care services will be available from January 1, he added.
