A 60 year-old video-recorder V K Sasikala Natarajan with no political experience or credible or creditable social service to her credit is now the general secretary of the AIADMK.

She is the foster sister and companion of the late Puratchi Thalaivi Jayalalithaa for over three decades, prime accused in the discredited disproportionate assets case and an extra constitutional authority who moved the pawns in the game of politics from the backroom, and patronised the Thevar community much before the late CM could see through her designs .

Propped up as ‘Chinnamma’ by the vicious vested sycophants, she is going to sound the death-knell of AIADMK in the context of leadership vacuum post Jayalalithaa.

The personality cult devoid of any ideological background in Tamil Nadu politics has now reached its nadir as never before, an instance of which was the way the mortal remains of the late Jayalalithaa were surrounded by the coterie of Sasikala which was shunned and sent out by Jayalalithaa a few years ago.

The photos which showed the Chief Minister O Pannerselvam and party MLAs and Ministers standing or sitting like the orphaned children on the flight of stairs are indeed a comment that the entire party and government stood at the feet of Sasikala and her family.

Jayalalithaa must be turning in her grave as her worst fears have come true foreboding an early entombment of her AIADMK party which she nurtured singlehandedly after the death of her mentor MGR.
