Four die as car plunges into canal

P Gannavaram (East Godavari): In a tragic accident, four persons belonging to the same family died when the car in which they were travelling plunged into an agriculture canal near Nagullanka village of P Gannavaram mandal in East Godavari district on Saturday.

Gandham Gopikrishna, owner of Gopikrishna Tours and Travels of Mandapeta, was going to Razole to attend a function along with his family members.

Suddenly, he lost control over the car on the narrow road at Nagul- Four die as car plunges into canal lanka and the vehicle fell into the agriculture canal.

The villagers of the Nagullanka immediately jumped into the canal but they could not open the glasses or windows of the car.

The vehicle went deep into the canal water and all the four persons travelling in it died on the spot.

The dead bodies were recovered from the canal. Gandham Gopikrishna (55), his mother Saraswati (75) and two sisters Subbalakshmi (48) and Ammaji (45) died in the accident.
