Tirupati: Students of various schools took out a rally here on Saturday, to highlight the importance of the Indian Science Congress (ISC) meet to be held at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in pilgrim city from January 3-7. Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam’s (SPMVV) Vice- Chancellor V Durga Bhavani and Tirupati Urban SP R Jayalakshmi flagged off the rally at SPMVV.

Tirupati: Students of various schools took out a rally here on Saturday, to highlight the importance of the Indian Science Congress (ISC) meet to be held at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in pilgrim city from January 3-7.

Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam’s (SPMVV) Vice- Chancellor V Durga Bhavani and Tirupati Urban SP R Jayalakshmi flagged off the rally at SPMVV.

The rally passed through the streets of SV Nagar, West Church Road, Balaji Colony, Chittoor Road and concluded at SVU campus.

It may be noted here that Children Science Congress (CSC) would also be held along with ISC from January 4 to 6 at SPMVV.

Speaking to the media, SPMVV VC Durga Bhavani said that rally was organised to promote ISC with the cooperation of organising committee and SVU.

She stated that event was aimed at highlighting the need to create awareness about science among children and elders.

Urban SP R Jayalakhmi said that it is a great opportunity to the residents of Tirupati to know the research in science taking place across the nation. She stated that children from all over the nation would attend the Children Science Congress.

Prior to taking out a rally, knowledge torch was handed over to school children. SVU VC A Damodaram, ISC Convener Professor Narayana Rao, Tirupati MLA M Suguna and school children were present.
