Tirupati: Science Exhibition will be conducted as part of the 104th Indian Science Congress (ISC) will provide a rare opportunity for the interested students, researchers and the general public to have a view of our national organisations including science and technology, research, medical, educational, social and other institutions of Central and State governments showcasing their functioning and performances.
The exhibition which will be held along with ISC for three days will provide a golden chance to meet the scientists, inventors and others who are concerned with the innovations like satellites, missiles and other findings which finds a place in the pavilions of exhibition.
In other words, the interested will hear from the horse’s mouth about Akash missile or satellites right from Aryabhatta to the latest one launched by the ISRO.
The notable displays in the science exhibition include a pavilion dedicated entirely to the life, history and achievement of Nayudamma, the science man and Telugu Bidda, who became synonym to science and innovative inventions, hangouts showcasing India’s prowess in the area of space research, missile technology, nuclear power, atomic energy and also other aspects like wind energy and water development etc.
According to ISC organising secretary Prof S Vijaya Bhaskara Rao of S V University, the highlight of the exhibition will be display of select missiles without ammunition and the added attraction is that those who were involved in the creation of Akash, Prudhvi, Agni missiles will be present to explain about the findings of missile technology in which India achieved an enviable position.
People visiting the exhibition will also be able to know more interesting aspects about the satellites right from Aryabhatta, the first satellite launched by ISRO to the latest PSLV series, he said.
The exhibition was set up on a sprawling 7-acre land with the pavilions erected on 19,000 sq mt developed area.
One-sixth of the space will be available for AP to showcase its institutions. Other State governments and even private firms will also take part in the exhibition where people can have a close look out at exhibits like PSLV, GSLV etc.
GOI’s wings including Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Atomic Energy (DAE), CSIR, ICMR NRD and PR, Ayush and many others also find a place in the exhibition showcasing their achievements.
While the focal theme of the 104th ISC is `Science and Technology (ST) for National Development, the plenary session is broadly devoted to five areas social needs, national priorities, economic development, frontiers of science and technology and higher education and collaborative activities.
The topics included under societal needs include food security, solar energy, cyber security, next generation network and disaster management.
Sessions under National priorities include Science and Technology in the North East Region of India, climate change, blue economy-India’s efforts, and the current PM pet programmes Swachh Bharat and Smart cities also.
The plenary session on Science and technology for economic development include space technology, Indian nuclear programme, Industry- Academia interaction, the latest 5G and Internet of Things (IOT) Under the collaborative activities, the topics taken up in the plenary session include Science and Technology for Neighbourhood, Extended Neighbourhood and African countries.
Another most relevant discussion in the plenary session will be on Frontiers of S and T and Higher Education.
The subject will cover CRSPR-CAS( (Gene Editing), Nanotechnology,, Human Microbiome and seven other subjects.
