He felt books are the only available means to preserve and pass the history to the next generation.

He inaugurated the Navya Andhra book exhibition organised by Vijayawada Book Festival Society at Swaraj Maidan, here on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, he said that books were very useful to gain knowledge and pleasure.

“Book exhibitions are useful to create awareness among people on various subjects,” he remarked and appealed to the people to make use of book festival and gain knowledge.

He asserted that said the government would take measures to host book festival in every district in the State.

The Vijayawada Book Festival Society president Babji, said a variety of books for children, women and professionals were on display.

“Reputed publications from not only Andhra Pradesh but also from other parts of India are taking part in the mega annual book fest,” he informed.
