Fire breaks out at Sentini hospital

Vijayawada: A minor fire was broke out at Senitini hospital here on Tuesday. But, alert staff and fire department personnel successfully doused the fire.

The smoke alarm installed in the hospital has alerted the staff soon after the smoke spread in the entire hospital in three floors.

The hospital staff immediately alerted the fire department personnel who in turn rushed to the spot and extinguished the minor fire.

Additional District Fire Officer Srinivasa Reddy said the fire broke out due to short circuit at MRI scan room. He said no one was hurt in the mishap.

The fire department staff extinguished the fire. Soon after the mishap, the hospital management shifted all the patients to the Ramesh and Ayush hospitals as a precautionary measure.

Later, the hospital staff shifted the equipment and files to safer places within the premises.

The fire services staff broke the glass to let out the smoke from the hospital premises.

Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao and local TDP leaders visited the hospital and spoke to the management.
