Visakhapatnam: Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru, which was conducted at Ward No.1 in Arilova area under the limits of Vizag East Assembly segment here on Tuesday, evoked good response from the people as they realised that any problem or grievance submitted in the gram/ward sabha would be redressed.

Initially Zonal Commissioner Satyaveni in her comprehensive report informed that of the total 248 pension applications received in the first round of Janambhoomi, 111 pensions were sanctioned as others were not qualified due to underage, below 40 per cent of disability and failure in enclosing the death certificate of the spouse.

Of the total 1,210 ration card applications, 1,208 persons were given the cards.

In the second round, only seven applications for ration cards were received of which six were given away and all the three applied for pensions were also given away.

In case of third round of Janmabhoomi, 27 persons were sanctioned pensions against 39 applied and 162 ration cards against 165 applied.

Since the pensions and ration cards applications were being cleared from time to time, the number of applications, too. were decreasing gradually, she added.
