Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday offered prayers to Lord  at the famous hill shrine Tirumala. He was accompanied by Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Y Sujana Chowdary.

Earlier on his arrival at Padmavathi Rest House, he was accorded a warm reception by TTD Trust Board Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurty, EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao and Tirumala JEO K S Sreenivasa Raju.

Following the temple tradition, wearing silk clothes (Pattu Pancha) the Prime Minister offered prayers at the temple.

On his arrival at Mahadwaram, the Prime Minister was accorded traditional welcome with Isthikapal by temple priests amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras.
