Chittoor: Zilla Parishad Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning funds to Polavaram Project by responding to the appeal made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

She termed Prime Minister’s visit to the district on Tuesday as an historical event.

Modi took part in the inaugural of the Indian Science Congress held at Sri Venkateswara University campus in Tirupati on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media at her chambers here on Tuesday, Girvani said that she got an opportunity to meet the Prime Minister at Tirupati.

“We have conveyed our extreme gratitude to the Prime Minister for taking measures to develop the State on all fronts under the dynamic leadership of Chandrababu.

ZP chief stated that the TDP elected representatives from the district took active part in ISC event at Tirupati.

She said that she would take part in the Janmabhoomi programme to be held in Kuppam Assembly Constituency from next Monday onwards.

She made a fervent appeal to all the ZPTC members to take part in Janmabhoomi and make it a grand success.

Girvani said that the people would teach YSRCP, a befitting lesson if the party leaders fail to resolve people’s issues.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to take part in the ongoing Janmabhoomi programme by next week in the district preferably on the occasion of valedictory function of ISC meet.

Girvani said that she would take part in the ISCA event every day in the morning and in the Janmabhoomi in the evening. TDP leaders Chandra Prakash and others were present.
