Call to protect environment by planting saplings

Vijayawada: Sarada Nursery founder and environmentalist Kandula Saradavani called upon the people to protect the trees to achieve pollution-free State. She conducted a training programme for housewives on plantation and protection of trees at Sarada Nursery here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Saradavani said that a 50-year-old big tree releases nearly 130 kgs of oxygen per day. Everyone should plant one sapling for future generations, she added. She planted saplings in rubber balls, cold drink bottles and other waste material to motivate the people towards greenery and kitchen garden.
