Glittering start to badminton tourney

Kadapa: A five-day 62nd School Games Federation (SGF) Badminton tournament for under-12 boys and girls began in a glittering ceremony at YSR Indore Stadium here on Wednesday. The event would be conducted from January 4 to 8. As many as 300 players from 30 States would be participating in the 5-day tournament. District Collector K V Satyanarayana inaugurated the tournament.

Speaking the occasion, Satyanarayana said district administration is making efforts to develop the Kadapa district as a sports hub as it has abundance resources. He recalled that this is a second national tournament organised in Kadapa city. He also urged the players to consider victory and defeat as equal manner. DEP Prathap Reddy and others were present.
