Kurnool: Auctioning of seized vehicles has fetched Rs 1.39 lakh to the State government. Following the orders of Director General of Police (DGP) N Sambasiva Rao, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Ake Ravi Krishna held an auction of unused and seized vehicles at Taluka Police Station here on Wednesday. Ravi Krishna said auction has been held after intimating to the vehicle owners. The SP said only three persons came to police station after reading auction notice.

“The vehicles have been handed over to owners after verification of records,” he stated. After handing over three vehicles, the SP said permission has been sought from the Junior First Class Magistrate and Tahsildar for the auction of 20 more vehicles. “Auction has been conducted on the prices fixed by the Transport department,” he added. The SP said an amount of Rs 1.39 lakh received through auction has been deposited in the treasury bank.
