Eluru: A young boy from Visakhapatnam managed to escape from the clutches of kidnappers at Visakhapatnam. According to Eluru city police, Voppangi Praveen Kumar (12) who was waiting for his school bus at a bus stand in Aganampudi locality of Visakhapatnam on Thursday, was offered chocolates by two youth under the guise that they were distributing chocolates on the eve of birthday.

The moment the boy accepted chocolates, one of the two persons put a kerchief over his nose from backside. Later, they took him to the railway station when the boy was lying in an unconscious stage.

Later, when the train that they boarded reached Eluru railway station, the boy woke up and got down from the train. On seeing the Railway police on the Eluru platform, he approached them and narrated the entire story.

After obtaining details and phone numbers of his parents, the SI N Ramu informed his parents about the whole incident. The parents told the SI that they were overly worried about their son as he was not to be seen since morning.

The boy, Praveen Kumar, is the son of Raghavendra Rao, a Telugu Daily(Andhra Jyothi) reporter in Komarada mandal of Vizianagaram district. He adopted the boy from his brother-in-law Das of Aganampudi, who is a school teacher.

Following the information given by the police, their relative Raghava Rao of Vijayawada reached Eluru and picked up the boy from Eluru railway police after giving a statement. The police registered a case of kidnap and are investigating into the incident.
