Narsapur: Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, alias Nani, former MLA and YSRCP West Godavari unit president on Thursday alleged that the State government created a division among 40 villages under the pretext of bringing the Godavari Aqua Mega Food Park at Tundurru.
Speaking to the media after flagging off the motorcycle rally of All-Party committee at Ambedkar centre here on Thursday, he questioned the appropriateness of the government in building the Aqua Food Park despite an agitation being taken up by people from the constituencies of Narsapur, Palakollu and Bhimavaram against it. The government chose to ignore the fears of the people in this regard despite severe pollution the park could cause to the water resources.

CPM district secretariat member JNV Gopalan said that village community who wish to take part in the agitation need to exhibit their Aadhaar cards. He averred that a curfew-like situation was prevailing over this area.CPM division secretary Kavuru Peddiraju demanded the Centre and State governments to withdraw their plans of supporting the construction of the Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park at once. He warned that the agitation would be intensified if there is no change in the government’s attitude.
The rally passed through the main streets of Narsapuram and villages before reaching Tundduru. Aqua Food Park Vyatireka Porata Samiti convenor Areti Vasu, CPM leaders Pogaku Narayana Rao Pogaku Poorna, Mamidisetti Ramanjayeulu Jalli Ramamohana Rao, Telagamsetty Satyanarayana, and B Jogeswara Rao along with YRSC leaders former MLA Mudunuri Prasada Raju, DSS Prasada Raju in the bike rally. Beginning at Narsapur town, the bike rally passed through Saripalli, Mallavaram, Mallavaramlanka, K Bethapudi, and Tundurru villages. The people from Mallavaram, and Mallavaram lanka, Saripalle, K Bethapudi villages took part in the relay hunger strike in protest against the Food Park. In K Behapudi village, 75 women participated in the hunger strike. A relay hunger strike is already underway in Mogaluturu mandal.
