​Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu informed that the government would regularise house sites soon.

Speaking at Janmabhoomi programme at Burugupudi in Korukonda mandal on Friday, the Minister said that the decision was taken by the Cabinet sub-committee and it will benefit about 24 lakh people in the State.

Stating that the Janmabhoomi programme would be held once in a year and the complaints, petitions received in the programme would be monitored by a State-level cell for quick disposal.

Regarding development of airports, Yanamala said that the government has been acquiring lands for expansion of airports at Vijayawada, Vizianagaram and Madhurapudi near Rajamahendravaram.

“The compensation for lands acquired for Madhurapudi Airport, an amount of Rs 375 crore is paid directly to the farmers,” he informed.

Speaking on Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme, the Minister said that the scheme would provide water to five constituencies in East Godavari district, besides water to Vizag Steel Plant, covering a total of two lakhs acres. He asserted that government was committed for the welfare of the people and informed that an amount of Rs 2,000 crore would be borrowed for welfare programs.

The Finance Minister assured the farmers of justice in paying compensation for the land acquired for lift irrigation scheme.

Narrating the measures taken by the government to pay the salaries with 43 per cent fitment benefit to employees and pay hike to Velugu and municipal staff, he told that government was sympathetic to the demands of the employees, in spite of financial constrains and cautioned the employees not to politicise the issues and demands.

Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone to veterinary hospital building to be constructed with Rs 26 lakh at West Ganugagudem in Korukonda mandal.
