Sankranti Cup Football Tourney begins today
Vijayawada: The South Central Railway Sports Association, Vijayawada division will be organising Sankranti Cup Five-A side Football Tournament at the Railway Stadium in the city from January 7.
Vijayawada: The South Central Railway Sports Association, Vijayawada division will be organising Sankranti Cup Five-A side Football Tournament at the Railway Stadium in the city from January 7.
Vijayawada division railway welfare inspector N Arjuna in a press release here on Friday said that senior divisional financial manager P Koteswara Rao will inaugurate the tournament on January 7.
In all, 12 teams from different branches of Vijayawada division will take part in the tournament, he added. The tournament will be conducted on a league-cum-super league basis by dividing into four pools, he said.
He further stated that noted players V Kannan, G Edwin, W Chandra Sekhar, Niroshan Mani, A Vamsi Krishna, T Robert Kennedy, J Srinivas, P Krishna, Hasmath Ali, Chandra, J Nagerjuna, Sk Javid, S Veera Babu, V Satish Kumar, T Bhaskar Rao, D Anil Kumar and GS Rdddy will participate in the tournament.
