Guntur: The pre-release function of mega star Chiranjeevi’s comeback film ‘Khaidi No. 150’ went off on a sprawling ground abutting the Kolkatta-Chennai national highway near Chinakakani in Guntur district,

without fireworks and backlash as expected by his fans in the wake of denial of permission by the government to host the event at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium in Vijayawada on January 4.

Instead, Chiranjeevi wished ‘All the best’ for the Nandamuri Balakrishna’s epic-historic film “Gautamiputra Satakarni’ which is scheduled to hit the screen a day after his film.

He even described Balayya as his brother.Chiranjeevi depicted his comeback to acting with his latest film Khadi No.150 after a gap of 10 years as a lover undergoing a longing wait to his soul mate (fans).

The event witnessed the presence of Dasari-Chiru combine, who were reportedly on good terms for quite some time.

According to star’s insiders, it is Dasari who named the film as ‘Khaidi No. 150’, although it was originally a Tamil film with the title ‘Kath’.

The very title ‘Khaidi’ is said to be a sentiment for the actor as his film with that name made in early 1980s was a box office hit and thus became a turning point in his film career.

Therefore, the initiative taken by Dasari to name the latest film brought him to the function, it is said. In his 25-minute speech, Chiranjeevi mainly spoke of the factions, which forced him to get out of the decadelong hibernation and stage a comeback into the film career.

He made a mention of his brother and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan on only one occasion, when he wanted to describe the film director VV Vinayak as his brother like “my own elder brother Pawan”.

Chiru’s brother Nagababu lost cool at one stage during his speech and berated film director Ramgopal Varma and writer Yandamuri Veerendranath without naming them for their criticism against the Ramcharan’s movie “Druva” Meanwhile, surging of a large number crowd to the venue resulted in a stampede, leaving one person sustaining fractures.

Two persons received injuries when a car hit a two-wheeler, when the crowds were reaching the venue before the start of the function.
