Kurnool: Dhone police arrested four persons, who were involved in thefts, at Rayala Way Bridge on the national highway 44 on Saturday. The accused have committed thefts at various places in Dhone and Veldurthi mandals.

Kurnool: Dhone police arrested four persons, who were involved in thefts, at Rayala Way Bridge on the national highway 44 on Saturday. The accused have committed thefts at various places in Dhone and Veldurthi mandals.

The police recovered Rs 4.5 lakh worth ornaments and panchaloha idols from them. The accused were presented before the media at Ved Vyas Auditorium here on Saturday in the presence of Superintendent of Police Ake Ravi Krishna.

Addressing the media, the SP said Palagiri Swamy, Ramavath Vinod Kumar Naik, Uddanti Rambabu and Shaik Chand Basha have formed a gang and were robbing valuable articles from temples, shops and houses.

Modus operandi of the accused is to target locked houses in posh localities. Following the directions of SP and Dhone DSP Baba Fakkruddin, a team was formed with Circle Inspector Y Srinivasulu, Sub Inspector V Srinivasulu, Assistant Sub Inspector Srinivasa Rao and other police staff.

The team took up the investigation and apprehended the accused.
