Kadapa: Water release from Gandikota reservoir to Pulivendula Assembly constituency seems to have taken interesting twist with the ruling and opposition parties have launched war of words over the issue.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is schedule to release the water from Gandikota reservoir on January 11. The district administration is busy in making the necessary arrangements for the Chief Minister’s programme.
Meanwhile, Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy has inspected the Pydipalem reservoir on Saturday and performed a special pooja at the project site dedicating water release to former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Speaking to the media here, Avinash Reddy said that Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to release water from Gandikota reservoir as 80 per cent of works were completed by spending Rs 600 crore during the regime of
Rajasekhara Reddy.
“Only Rs 24 crore was sanctioned by the TDP government for Gandikota reservoir,” he added. He said release of water to the Pulivendula Assembly constituency has became reality because of Rajasekhara Reddy as he had initiated measures for completion of 80 per cent works from Pothireddypadu Head
Regular to Gandikota reservoir.
