Bhimavaram: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa appealed scientists to conduct research on new crop varieties that benefit the farmers by giving high yield.
He participated as a chief guest at the swearing-in ceremony of Agriculture Market Committee (AMC) of Bhimavaram on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister claimed that the State stands second after Punjab in agriculture and was on forefront in poultry and aquaculture.
“Scientists should take up research to introduce new crop varieties that yield more with least expenditure,” he sought to advice He lashed out at Congress government for neglecting the development of the State.
Reiterating Polavaram project will make the State a rice bowl, he suggested the new marketing committee executive committee to extend good services to the farmers and encourage the farmers in getting higher income.
Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha said that the Chief Minister vowed to the completion of all irrigation projects to benefit the farmers in the State.
