The Swarna Rathotsavam was held as part of the Vaikunta Ekadasi religious festival observed on a grand scale in the famed Tirumala temple.
The deities adorned with dazzling ornaments mounted on the richly decorated glittering golden ratham was taken in procession in the Mada streets around the shrine enthralling the devotees who gathered in large number on the occasion of major religious fete which is one of the most important temple event observed in all the Sri Vaishnavaite temples especially in South India.
