Kurnool: YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy called upon the people to drag the TDP government on to the road for its anti-people policies.

Addressing meetings on the fifth day of his Rythu Bharosa Yatra in Gujalapalli and Mahanandi mandals on Tuesday, Jagan said former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy distributed 33 lakh acres of land to 23 lakh Dalits in the State.

But Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was forcibly taking back the lands from the Dalits. Without a debate on the farmers’ issues in the State Cabinet, resolutions are being made on how to grab the innocent people’s lands, Jagan alleged.

He also wondered why Naidu failed to implement the Aarogyasri scheme, fee reimbursement and other welfare schemes. Instead, Naidu was introducing useless schemes, the YSRCP chief flayed.

He said official figures indicate that 40 debt-ridden farmers had committed suicides in the district but the government provided compensation to only four families.

Earlier in the day, Jagan visited Mahanandi temple and offered special prayers. The priests extended a warm welcome to him following the temple rituals.
