The one-day national conference held on the importance of protection, promotion and propagation of desi cows and panchagavya products at SVETA building in Tirupati on Tuesday.

Speaking on this occasion, the EO said that there is dire need to save indigenous cow breeds to have healthy milk products. “The first and foremost motto of TTD's SV Gosamrakshana Trust is to protect and promote desi cows,” he reiterated.

About 60 representatives from various NGOs and other cow protection organisations took part in the seminar. “The outcome of the meeting will be enlisted and future plan of action towards the protection of desi cow breeds and panchagavya products will be taken up accordingly in future,” he added.

TTD Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar said there is an urgent need to chalk out an action plan towards the protection of desi cows by TTD and likeminded NGOs. The JEO said that the TTD is safeguarding around 250 desi cows in its Goshala at Palamaner as a part of its Gosamrakshana activity.

Special Officer of All Projects N Muktheswara Rao and Gosala Director Dr Harnath Reddy were also present.
