DDUGJY executive director visits Agency

Visakhapatnam: Executive Director of Deena Dayal Upadyaya Grama Jyothi Yojana (DDUGJY) Dr Dineswar Arora and his team visited remote villages of Visakha Agency on Tuesday and satisfied with the progress in the electrification work undertaken under the above scheme.

The official visit assumed significance as the Chairman of Rural Electrification, New Delhi P V Ramesh instructed the team to visit the Agency areas and assess the progress.

The team headed by Arora visited interior Chintapalli mandal and Kokkithapadu village in G K Veedhi mandal where they examined the solar power plant established under the DDUGJY scheme.

Later, he told reporters that 215 villages were covered under the scheme with 1.88 lakh connections, thus, even remote areas were being electrified through solar power plants. Chief General Manager V Vijayalalitha, Paderu DE Rammurty, DE Sridevi and other officials of APEPDCL accompanied the team.
