Kadapa: To strengthen technical education in the State, Human Resources Development (HRD)
Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the State government has been taking measures.

He stated the government will establish a branch of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) in Srikakulam district soon. The Minister visited the RGUKT at Idupulapaya on Tuesday.

He inspected the stalls in the campus set up on the occasion of 2nd convocation of RGUKT. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would participate in the convocation ceremony to be held on Wednesday.

He will present medals and meritorious certificates to the students. Speaking to the media, the Minister stated that the government had issued a GO to acquire land for setting up RGUKT in Srikakulam.

But, the orders were withdrawn due to technical reasons, he added. He clarified that the government is firm on setting up RGUKT at Srikakulam.

Later, the Minister took part in Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme held at Pydipalem after inspecting the reservoir. Addressing the gathering, Ganta said that the government is keen on improving living standards of farmers by completing all pending irrigation projects despite financial hurdles.

The Minister stated that Chandrababu is taking special interest to provide water for farming needs in Pulivendula constituency. He asked people to make use of Janmabhoomi as it is meant for addressing people’s issues.
