Speaking to media here on Tuesday, Narayana said both leaders were not interested in fighting for solution of people’s problems but only in power.

Admitting that it would be difficult to bring all the opposition political parties onto a single platform to fight against ruling party and on public grievances in the State, he said,

This is the weakness of opposition parties in the State. Only Left parties are fighting the ruling party on public issues and grievances.”

CPI will conduct torch rallies across the country on January 25 in protest against the problems caused by demonetization,

he said and added that again on January 30 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi death anniversary in protest against the communal activities of Sangh Pariwar, including RSS and BJP.

“Our party will agitate and stage dharnas at various States of the country with a call to save Constitution and nation,” he said.

He said even after 60 days of demonetization, people at large were facing severe problems with cash crunch hitting all sections.

He alleged that all the black money holders in the country had turned their old currency into white with the tacit support of Modi government well before November 8, leaving only the poor in the lurch.

In this connection, he alleged that both Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana converted their black money before the official announcement of demonetisation, with the help of the Prime Minister and that is why they were praising the move.

Alleging irregularities in the works of 104th Indian Science Congress (ISC) here, the CPI leader demanded that the State government release a white paper on the Rs 165 crore spent on the meet.

He said that Rs 36 crore were misused in the name of food arrangements alone and sought a probe into corruption.
